Thanks Viola!

The board and staff of AnewAmerica wish to thank Viola Gonzales for her dedicated service in her tenure with our agency and to express our appreciation for her accomplishments. After serving as Chief Executive Officer for over five years, Viola has announced her departure from the organization. Her last day will be June 30, 2016.

Prior to AnewAmerica, Viola held positions in both private and public sectors, including in local government and as executive with community-based organizations. Her volunteer service has included appointments to numerous corporate advisory, nonprofit and civic boards, among them the City of Oakland's Planning Commission and the Oakland Board of Education. Her career has spanned over 30 years at the intersection of direct service, public policy and community development issues - impacting low-income families. We wish her continued success as she considers her next chapter in exploring elective office.

Doug has been working in the nonprofit sector since 2001.
