Celebrating Small Business Week all over the Bay Area!

From May 2 thru 7, 2015, AnewAmerica hosted or cosponsored educational events all over the Bay Area, providing the public with information on business and financial topics. We thank everyone who came out to learn new information and meet their fellow entrepreneurs!

On Saturday, May 2nd in San Jose, AnewAmerica hosted a Financial Management for Small Businesses seminar presented by volunteers from Cathay Bank.

On Monday, May 4th in Richmond, AnewAmerica hosted a Financial Management for Small Businesses seminar at Catholic Charities East Bay offices.

On Tuesday, May 5th in San Jose, we hosted our Small Business Marketing seminar at SPUR offices.

On Wednesday, May 6th in Concord, we held our Small Business Marketing seminar at Monument Impact offices with support from the Contra Costa County SBDC.

On Thursday, May 7th in Oakland, we participated in Assemblyman Bonta's Access to Capital/Lender Fair, hosted by the Alameda County SBDC with other community partners.

We also thank Peet's Coffee stores #203 and #210 for providing refreshments and gifts for our speakers in Concord and Richmond. Happy National Small Business Week!

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owners. This year, Small Business Week is the first week of May. AnewAmerica is celebrating by hosting a series of free workshops throughout the Bay Area. This is an opportunity for small business owners to build up their knowledge in financial management, marketing, and access to capital. Call and register for any of the free workshops today!

Thank you for a successful Day of Giving!

We thank everyone who played a part in helping us to achieve a successful Day of Giving campaign on May 5th, 2015, hosted by East Bay Community Foundation and Silicon Valley Community Foundation! As first-time participants in Silicon Valley Gives, we were pleased to see a stream of donations throughout the day from South Bay supporters. With past experience with East Bay Gives, we are happy to say that we not only maintained a solid base of donors, but also won a Golden Ticket from the East Bay Community Foundation.

We particularly thank our Board of Directors for their invaluable support in broadening our reach and making the Day of Giving a hit!

The Day of Giving coincided with National Small Business Week. AnewAmerica celebrated with five days of presentations on business and financial topics! Events were open to the public and located throughout our service footprint in the Bay Area.

San Jose Open House Kicks Off the Holiday Season

AnewAmerica held its first San Jose Business Exposition and Open House on December 3rd, 2014 at its offices. Many people contributed to make the evening both fun and meaningful.



Among our many guests, we were glad to see SBA District Director Mark Quinn, Economic Development Specialist Hannah Kelley-Bell, and Assistant District Director-Economic Development Kathleen Butler-Tom attend to represent the Small Business Administration. We were pleased to see Chief Operating Officer Todd Hansen, The Health Trust, as well as Chief Economist John Lang and work2future Business Services Manager B.J. Sims, City of San Jose.

A hearty thank you goes to all who attended representing Sacred Heart Community Service, Heritage Bank of Commerce, Cathay Bank, Wells Fargo, the Greater San Jose Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the San Jose State University Research Foundation, and Network Remedy.
