Thank you for making our EXPO a resounding success!

With over 300 guests & supporters, AnewAmerica's Ready, Set, Grow EXPO generated good times and funds to support entrepreneurs from low-income families in the Bay Area. We thank you all for making this the most successful EXPO yet!

AnewAmerica’s Womens’ Business Centerparticipated in the 6th Annual Summit on Entrepreneurship and Innovation in San Jose as part of the City of San Jose’s Small Business Week activities.  AnewAmerica alumna Betty Bedrigalof Betty’s Butterflies, a multi-lingual day care facility, participated on the Access to Capital panel discussion moderated by Mark Quinn, SBA Director for Northern California.  AnewAmerica’s Director of Programming Jeff Butlerco-hosted a workshop, “Resources for Start-Ups” with San Jose Public Library Works.  In addition, AnewAmerica had a table during the event to give budding entrepreneurs information on how AnewAmercia can help them.  Highlights of the day included Welcome Remarks by San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, Northern CA SBA Director Mark Quinnand County of Santa Clara Supervisor Bruce Knopf.  In addition, Keynote speakers were Trami Cronof Chopsticks Alley and Damien Hooper-Campbell, Director of Diversityat eBay.   Small Business owners, entrepreneurs and budding entrepreneurs were found contacts with resources to help them maintain, growth and jump start their business!!

We thank everyone who played a part in helping us to achieve a successful Day of Giving campaign on May 5th, 2015, hosted by East Bay Community Foundation and Silicon Valley Community Foundation! As first-time participants in Silicon Valley Gives, we were pleased to see a stream of donations throughout the day from South Bay supporters. With past experience with East Bay Gives, we are happy to say that we not only maintained a solid base of donors, but also won a Golden Ticket from the East Bay Community Foundation.

We particularly thank our Board of Directors for their invaluable support in broadening our reach and making the Day of Giving a hit!

The Day of Giving coincided with National Small Business Week. AnewAmerica celebrated with five days of presentations on business and financial topics! Events were open to the public and located throughout our service footprint in the Bay Area.

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owners. This year, Small Business Week is the first week of May. AnewAmerica is celebrating by hosting a series of free workshops throughout the Bay Area. This is an opportunity for small business owners to build up their knowledge in financial management, marketing, and access to capital. Call and register for any of the free workshops today!
